Status Update and Slight Name Change

     I have decided to change the name of this blog from Looping Spectrum Theory to Looping Spectrum Paradox because I feel like paradox is a more accurate word for the idea I am working with. Someday when I am able to take this to the highest levels of math and science I may call it a theory again, but for now I am working toward a rounded explanation of the things I have already sorted out.

     I plan to write a series of short essays and make a handful of videos, and then let this page simmer while I focus more on other projects. Hopefully it will gain some interest and lead to an opportunity to take it to the next level, but either way I will continue to study on my own.

Looping Spectrum Theory: Claims and Logic.

Part One: Waves and Particles.

Claim 1:
If you want to measure something, the most fundamental measurements you can make are on the binary level.

Logic:
Binaries are the most fundamental aspect of anything we can measure because it gives us the option of a frame of reference. Anything simpler than a binary would be a singularity, but in a singularity everything is homogenous and there are no frames of reference to use for measurements.

Claim 2:
The binary of the observable universe is waves and particles. In other words, everything in the observable universe is a wave, a particle, or a combination of the two.

Logic:
Another way of saying this is: everything in the Universe is energy, and we can observe it as either waves or particles. The periodic table and the standard model are how we have organized the particles, and the electromagnetic spectrum is how we have organized the waves. It is true that some things seem to be both waves and particles at the same time, but even when something is “both at the same time” it is still made of the same two ingredients: waves and particles. Another way of thinking about this is if everything in the Universe was either black or white, then something that was both black and white at the same time would be gray.

The Short Version

On October 6th of 2012 I was struck with an idea that began this whole Looping Spectrum thing. It has now been a year, and this website shows the progression of my work since then. I am now at a point where I need to study physics professionally to keep working on the theory, but I think what I've come up with so far is pretty substantial. Hopefully I will be able to turn enough heads that it will lead to some sort of grant or special program that would allow this art teacher with a BA in Fine Art to return to school and get a degree in physics.

My most recent work is a new paper that will hopefully strike a balance between "too long for the attention span of the internet" and "too short to explain what needs to be explained." You can read it by following this link, or by simply clicking the page titled "The Short Version."

If this paper doesn't help the idea catch on, I will proceed make new, shorter videos for YouTube with better production value.
